SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our upstream consulting team. The role demands deep expertise in reservoir simulation, production optimization, and field development planning, with strong capabilities in petrophysical workflows and digital upstream analytics.The candidate will lead integrated subsurface consulting projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive digital transformation initiatives for major international operators.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESReservoir Simulation & Modeling
Lead and independently execute static and dynamic reservoir simulation studies using Eclipse, CMG, or tNavigator, ensuring model quality and technical rigor.Drive history matching workflows, uncertainty quantification, and integrated reservoir performance evaluations for complex multi-field assets.
Own 3D geological model construction, simulation grid design, property population, and upscaling, delivering publication-ready technical documentation.
Production Optimization
Independently conduct production surveillance, decline curve analysis (DCA), IPR, and Nodal Analysis studies across multi-well assets.Lead artificial lift optimization, well intervention planning, and integrated production modeling to maximize asset value.
Build and maintain advanced performance dashboards and technical reports using OFM, Power BI, or Tableau for client stakeholders.
Field Development Planning (FDP)
Lead full-field development planning studies including well placement, recovery optimization, and multi-scenario economic evaluations.Own reserves estimation and classification workflows in accordance with SPE-PRMS guidelines, presenting findings to senior management and clients.
Consulting & Client Management
Serve as technical lead in client engagements, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions, translating complex subsurface insights into actionable recommendations.Mentor and guide junior reservoir engineers, ensuring quality assurance of deliverables and adherence to project timelines.
PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL SKILLSReservoir Simulation: Advanced proficiency in Eclipse, CMG, and tNavigator experienced in static modelling with Petrel and RMS.
Production Engineering: Expert in DCA, nodal analysis, IPR modelling, MBAL, Prosper, and GAP for integrated production system analysis.
Field Development Planning: Proven track record in FDP workflows, scenario analysis, reserves classification (SPE-PRMS), and economic modelling (NPV, IRR).Petrophysics & Formation Evaluation: Skilled in well log interpretation (GR, resistivity, density, neutron, sonic), core-to-log integration, and Techlog/Geolog.
Digital & Data Analytics: Proficient in Python (pandas, NumPy, matplotlib), SQL, Power BI, and Tableau for upstream data analytics and workflow automation.
Subsurface Data Management: Strong understanding of production data QC/QA, subsurface data governance, and technical documentation standards.Consulting & Stakeholder Management: Experienced in multi-disciplinary team leadership, executive-level presentations, and cross-cultural client management.
AI/ML Awareness: Practical exposure to machine learning applications in production forecasting, anomaly detection, and reservoir characterisation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONEducation: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences, or a related discipline.
Location: Bengaluru, India (Office-based) open to occasional travel to client sites or international project locations.
Work Environment: Extensive experience collaborating with global consulting teams and upstream technology experts across diverse operator environments.Preferred Background: 5+ years in Oil & Gas Upstream with focus on Reservoir Engineering and Integrated Subsurface Studies exposure to unconventional reservoirs is a strong advantage.
