Position Overview:
The Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounts supports statutory compliance, GST governance, payroll accounting, financial reporting, audit coordination, and monthly book closure processes. The role ensures timely regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, disciplined reconciliations, and audit readiness within the framework of a listed company.
Job Purpose:
To ensure accurate and timely statutory compliance, GST filings, payroll processing, reconciliations, audit coordination, and monthly financial closure, thereby supporting financial integrity, regulatory adherence, and effective management reporting.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Filings- Monthly working and payment of ESIC, PF, PT, TDS and related statutory liabilities.
- Quarterly TDS return filing (Form 26Q & 24Q).
- Employee income tax computation and issuance of Form 16.
- 26AS reconciliation for TDS/TCS accuracy.
- Custom duty payment coordination where applicable.
- Liaison with labour consultants on ongoing statutory matters.
- Preparation and filing of GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B monthly in coordination with tax consultants (PwC/EY).
- Revenue reconciliation and Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation for GST audits.
- Preparation and filing of GSTR 9 and 9C.
- Responding to GST notices in coordination with Tax Team.
- Processing monthly salary and maintaining payroll records.
- Issuing salary slips to employees.
- Coordinating with HR for employee tax, appraisal, and compliance matters.
- Supporting yearly appraisal working in coordination with HR.
- Verification and posting of accounting entries (Sales, Purchase, Credit Notes, Prepaid, Provisions, Cash, Bank, etc.).
- Fixed asset verification and accounting entries.
- Preparation of vendor and debtor reconciliations.
- Monthly closure entries including prepaid expenses and depreciation.
- Monthly closing of books of accounts.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports for management.
- Preparation of 1.5% profit margin working.
- Monthly EBT provision and EBT MIS preparation.
- Quarterly and yearly financial statement preparation.
- Yearly budget preparation and related presentation decks.
- Prepara tion of quarterly Board meeting financial workings and presentations.
- Coordination and closure of statutory audit.
- Coordination and closure of tax audit.
- Coordination and closure of internal audit.
- Preparation of required documentation and working papers.
- Supporting legal reporting requirements.
- Fortnightly airline payment working and coordination.
- Any other work assigned by reporting manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting
- CA Inter / CMA Inter preferred
Experience:
- 5 - 7 years of experience in accounting, GST, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
- Experience in handling audits and monthly financial closure.
- Exposure to listed company or large corporate environment preferred.
