The Senior analyst, Sustainability Reporting is a critical member of the Sustainability Reporting group, providing direct support to the Sustainability Controller. This role ensures the integrity of non-financial data through the execution of controls, compliance monitoring, and regulatory entity scoping.While applying a rigorous auditor mindset to, collection of sustainability data, the position primarily drives operational excellence through close collaboration with the Sustainability, Finance, and Legal teams in a matrixed environment. Acting as an independent, trusted advisor to the first line of defense to enable informed risk‑based decisions.This individual will ensure strong internal controls, governance, and reporting practices while collaborating with multiple stakeholders across the organization to drive risk mitigation strategies
Key Responsibilities- Control Execution & Monitoring: Execute and document internal controls over sustainability reporting processes to ensure data accuracy and audit readiness.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor company-wide compliance with established sustainability control frameworks and identify areas for process improvement.
- Regulatory Entity Scoping: Assist the Sustainability Controller in the technical scoping of legal entities to determine reporting obligations under global and local regulations (e.g., CSRD, BRSR).
- Project Management: Lead and coordinate sustainability reporting projects, including system implementations and the evolution of data collection workstreams across cross-functional global teams.
- Data Validation: Perform rigorous checks to ensure the completeness and consistency of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other operational metrics.
- Risk & Control Support: Support the Risk and Controls team in the assessment of the ESG control environment and preparation of key deliverables.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between Finance, Sustainability, and Legal to facilitate the accurate flow of non-financial information..Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ESG, Finance, Audit, and Risk & Controls, to assess operational and financial risks, implement corrective actions, and ensure proper testing of controls across ESG, SOX, and other initiatives.
- Develop and roll out cross-brand standards, guidelines, and best practices to improve internal controls, sustainability data collection documentation, communication, and processes across ESG and SOX.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com), MBA (Finance), M.Com, or equivalent Indian degree is required.
- Professional Qualification: CA (ICAI), CMA India, ACCA, CPA, or CIA is highly desirable.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Audit, or Sustainability within a multinational or Big 4 environment.
- Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Audit Discipline: Strong knowledge of SOX, COSO Framework, and risk-based auditing of business processes.
- Sustainability Frameworks: Basic familiarity with the GHG Protocol is highly desired.
- Preferred Frameworks: Working knowledge of CSRD, ISSB, or BRSR (SEBI) is highly desired.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to established timeframes.
- Analytical Prowess: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data integrity and analytical problem-solving.
