Job Description
Maintain Industrial Harmony
Act as the custodian of a peaceful and productive industrial environment, fostering strong relationships between management and the workforce.
Lead Union Relations & Negotiations
Build transparent, trust-based partnerships with unions; lead collective bargaining, wage negotiations, long-term settlements, and charters of demand.
Manage Industrial Relations (IR) Risks
Proactively identify and mitigate IR risks, prevent disputes, and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
Oversee Discipline & Legal Compliance
Handle disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, suspensions, and settlements with fairness, empathy, and adherence to labor laws.
Strengthen Employee Relations
Maintain strong on-ground employee connect, address concerns promptly, and foster a positive shop-floor climate.
Drive Engagement & Communication
Lead communication forums, grievance redressal mechanisms, and engagement initiatives that build trust and transparency.
Ensure Statutory Compliance
Guarantee 100% compliance with all relevant labor laws (Factories Act, ID Act, CLRA, Standing Orders, etc.) and confidently handle audits and inspections.
Optimize Workforce & Productivity
Partner with plant leadership on manpower planning, absenteeism control, productivity improvement, and shift optimization.
Build Managerial & Workforce Capability
Identify skill gaps and anchor technical, behavioral, and compliance-related training to develop supervisors, managers, and shop-floor employees.
Champion Culture, Values & Well-being
Promote organizational values, ethics, safety practices, and employee well-being initiatives across the plant.
The Successful Applicant- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or an equivalent qualification.
- 15-20 years of progressive HR experience in unionized manufacturing environments.
- Deep expertise in industrial relations, collective bargaining, wage negotiations, and statutory compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of labor laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in sectors such as FMCG, Food Processing, Chemicals, or large MNC manufacturing setups (preferred).
- Proven ability to manage factory HR operations, audits, and workforce governance.
- Exceptional negotiation, mediation, and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
- High emotional intelligence with strong credibility among unions and plant leadership.
- Business‑focused HR mindset with a people‑first approach.
- Strong communication, documentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solution‑oriented in dynamic shop‑floor environments.
