Head of Merchandising

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the overall merchandising strategy aligned with business objectives and customer preferences
- Ensure optimal product assortment, allocation, and placement across 200+ stores based on demand, geography, and customer profile
- Drive seasonal and long-term merchandise planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and product lifecycle management
- Monitor performance metrics such as sell-through rates, stock turnover, and gross margins to optimize merchandise mix
- Collaborate closely with buying, planning, inventory, and store operations teams to ensure supply chain alignment
- Lead a team of merchandisers and planners, fostering a performance-driven and collaborative culture
- Analyze customer insights, market trends, and competitor activity to continuously refine assortment and pricing strategies
- Own revenue and margin targets across merchandising categories, with P&L accountability for ₹500–₹600 Cr
- Drive the integration of technology and analytics into merchandising decisions for improved efficiency
- Provide strategic input to senior leadership on category performance, risks, and growth opportunities
