Job Description - Strategic Finance Manager

(Strategic Finance | Founders Office | High Growth Startup)

Role Overview

We are looking for a high-ownership Strategic Finance Manager professional who will work closely with the Chief Financial Office / Leadership team to drive strategic financial decision-making, business planning, analytics, and execution. This role will act as a finance partner to the Founder, bridging numbers with business strategy, growth initiatives, and operational priorities.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and should have strong analytical thinking, financial modelling skills, and a problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Finance & Business Planning:
  • Work closely with the CFO on business strategy, financial planning, and decision-making.
  • Build financial models, forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses.
  • Track business performance through key metrics, dashboards, and MIS.
  • Provide actionable insights to improve profitability and scalability.
  • Support long-term financial planning and growth initiatives.
  • Founders Office Support:
  • Act as a finance thought partner to the CFO.
  • Prepare business reviews, investor updates, leadership presentations, and strategic reports.
  • Drive special projects aligned with Founders/CFO priorities.
  • Identify business opportunities, risks, and operational improvement areas.
  • Financial Analysis & Modelling:
  • Build revenue models, unit economics, cost structures, and profitability analysis.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities and investments.
  • Perform market research and competitive analysis.
  • Support valuation, fundraising, and investor-related activities.
  • Fundraising & Investor Support:
  • Support preparation of investor decks, financial narratives, and fundraising materials.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for investor reporting and due diligence.
  • Track fundraising milestones and investor communication.
  • Business Operations & Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Product, Sales, Operations, and Growth teams.
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Create processes, automation, and reporting frameworks.
  • Improve financial discipline across functions.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 8-10 years.
  • Preferred Background: Startup finance, consulting, investment banking, FP&A, VC/PE, business finance roles.
Must Have Skills
  • Strong financial modelling & Excel skills.
  • Business acumen and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ownership mindset with ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CA / MBA Finance / CFA preferred.
  • Experience working directly with founders, CFO or leadership teams.
  • Exposure to fundraising, investor relations, or strategic projects.
