Linux Desktop Engineer- Location: Chennai, India (Onsite)
- Contract Length: 6–12 Months

Responsibilities:
- Support and administer Linux and macOS desktop environments across engineering and enterprise teams.
- Manage endpoint configurations, software deployments, patching, and system maintenance activities.
- Support Linux development toolchains, engineering applications, and developer productivity environments.
- Administer and support MDM (Mobile Device Management) platforms and endpoint management solutions.
- Assist with Docker and containerization environments used for development and testing workflows.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Troubleshoot endpoint, desktop, and tooling-related issues across distributed user environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to improve endpoint reliability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain operational documentation, standards, and support procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to endpoint engineering and desktop operations.
- 8-10+ years of experience supporting Linux and/or macOS desktop environments in enterprise settings.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- macOS endpoint management
- Linux desktop administration
- Docker and containerization technologies
- MDM platforms
- Automation scripting using Bash and/or Python
- Experience supporting developer tooling and engineering productivity environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills.
- Familiarity with endpoint security, software deployment, and desktop lifecycle management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to work independently within regional support coverage models.
- Familiarity with HP hardware and enterprise workstation environments.
- Experience supporting R&D, engineering, or software development organizations.
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling, virtualization, or cloud-based development environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise identity and access management integrations is considered an asset.
