Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Professor – UI/UX role based at the AAFT campus in Noida. The Assistant Professor will design and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in UI/UX, including topics such as user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and visual interface design.Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, conducting lectures, leading studio-based classes, supervising projects, and providing regular feedback and mentorship to students. The role also involves updating course content to align with current industry practices, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, and participating in academic activities such as assessments, reviews, and departmental meetings.
The Assistant Professor is expected to engage in continuous professional development, contribute to academic events, and foster an inclusive, creative classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in UI/UX principles, including user-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, and usability best practices.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision or similar).
- Ability to teach user research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, journey mapping, and persona development.
- Experience guiding students through the full design process, from problem framing and ideation to wireframing, prototyping, and design presentation.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Master's degree in Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Communication Design, or a closely related field; equivalent professional experience with a strong portfolio may also be considered.
- Prior teaching, training, or academic experience in UI/UX or related design disciplines is highly desirable.
- Strong professional portfolio demonstrating UI/UX projects, process documentation, and problem-solving in real or simulated scenarios.
- Ability to collaborate with academic and administrative teams, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in institutional initiatives.
- Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory teaching practices and to continuous learning in the evolving field of UI/UX.
