Senior HVAC Draughtsman

Job Description

Position Summary

The incumbent shall support the design and project execution teams by developing accurate, coordinated, and technically compliant drawings in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, client requirements, and industry best practices.

1. Prepare detailed HVAC layouts, shop drawings, and coordinated drawings for VRF systems, including indoor and outdoor unit placement, refrigerant piping layouts, condensate drain routing, control wiring, and equipment schedules.
2. Prepare detailed ventilation drawings for fresh air systems, basement ventilation, toilet exhaust systems, kitchen exhaust systems, smoke extraction systems, staircase pressurization systems, lift lobby pressurization systems, and other mechanical ventilation systems.
3. Develop HVAC and ventilation plans, sections, elevations, installation details, and schematic diagrams based on design requirements.
4. Prepare refrigerant piping schematics, ventilation riser diagrams, duct routing layouts, and airflow distribution drawings.
5. Draft duct layouts, fan locations, grilles, diffusers, louvers, dampers, attenuators, and associated accessories.
6. Prepare equipment layout drawings, duct schedules, fan schedules, diffuser schedules, and material schedules.
7. Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, and manufacturer recommendations.

1. Prepare detailed shop drawings for site execution and construction activities.
2. Coordinate HVAC and ventilation systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and interior design drawings.
3. Identify and resolve drawing clashes and discrepancies through multidisciplinary coordination.
4. Participate in design coordination meetings and incorporate consultant, client, and project team comments into revised drawings.
5. Assist in BIM coordination and clash detection processes where applicable.

1. Prepare and update as-built drawings reflecting actual site installations.
2. Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and document control systems.
3. Ensure all issued drawings are accurate, complete, and updated in accordance with project requirements.
4. Archive and maintain project drawing records for future reference.

1. Prepare quantity take-offs and material estimation drawings for refrigerant piping, ducting, insulation, drainage piping, dampers, fans, grilles, diffusers, supports, and HVAC equipment.
2. Assist project and procurement teams in technical reviews and material planning.
3. Provide drafting support during tendering, design development, and project execution stages.
4. Assist in preparation of equipment schedules and bill of quantities based on approved drawings.

1. Ensure all drawings conform to company standards, project specifications, and applicable HVAC design standards.
2. Verify dimensions, equipment locations, routing clearances, and installation requirements before issuance.
3. Ensure timely delivery of drawings as per project schedules.
4. Maintain high standards of drafting accuracy, quality, and documentation.

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC drafting and detailing.
• Proven expertise in preparing VRF system layouts and ventilation system drawings.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC installation practices, refrigerant piping, ducting systems, smoke management systems, and mechanical ventilation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations.

• Expertise in VRF system layouts and refrigerant piping drawings.
• Expertise in ventilation, exhaust, fresh air, smoke extraction, and pressurization system drawings.
• Strong coordination and interdisciplinary drawing review capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
