InfluenceMap is best known for its LobbyMap platform, which analyzes corporate advocacy and policy engagement activities related to climate change and nature. Our work has been featured in the media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns.Other workstreams include the FinanceMap platform, which assesses the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the Carbon Majors platform, which tracks emissions from the world’s largest polluters. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Sao Paulo and Brussels, we are a team of 75 dynamic professionals shaping the climate and nature agendas worldwide.
About the Role
We are seeking an India Engagement Manager based in India (Delhi-based) to drive our growing work across the country. This role is perfect for someone with roots in the region's climate, nature, and corporate accountability space who thrives at building partnerships, understanding market needs, and translating complex research into regional impact.You will help implement our strategy within India, working with our talented analyst team to ensure our research and engagement responds to local needs. This is an opportunity to shape how corporate climate advocacy is understood and addressed across the country.
At present, we have several country and sector-based analysts based in the UK working on our India program, and this recruitment represents our commitment to local engagement around our content with key stakeholders. Our existing research is focused on our India platform (https://india.influencemap.org/), from which content is delivered to key stakeholders in the corporate, finance, policy-making, and civil society sectors.You will be the first member of what we expect to be a thriving InfluenceMap team in India.
Key Responsibilities
Partner & Stakeholder Engagement- Build and manage strategic relationships with key partners across India, including investors, the corporate sector, policymakers, and civil society organizations
- Coordinate high-profile engagements with companies, financial institutions, and policy actors to advance climate and nature accountability in India
- Represent InfluenceMap at regional events, convenings, and in strategic discussions with senior stakeholders
- Play a key role in evolving the organization’s emerging strategy for India
- Monitor and analyze the regional climate, biodiversity, and broader sustainability landscape—understanding policy developments, corporate dynamics, and stakeholder priorities.
- Guide our content and research priorities based on a deep understanding of what the market needs and how to maximize impact
- Ensure our platforms and outputs are relevant, timely, and responsive to regional developments
- Learn and apply InfluenceMap's platform methodologies to support the team's research goals and ensure contextual oversight of our work and messaging
- Work with our global and India teams to produce high-quality content for media, investors, and other external stakeholders in the region
- Collaborate with and support a talented group of analysts working in the region
- This will evolve into direct line management responsibilities as the regional team expands
- Work seamlessly with global teams across different time zones and regional programs
- Contribute to organizational learning by sharing regional insights and best practices
Requirements
Requirements- English fluency: Strong written and spoken English for global collaboration
- Analytical capability: Ability to understand complex research methodologies and engage with data-driven analysis
- Stakeholder engagement and regional expertise: Proven track record of building and managing partnerships with corporate sector, financial, and policy stakeholders in India, with a thorough understanding of the country’s sustainability and business landscape
- Climate and energy policy knowledge: Strong familiarity with India’s climate and energy policy environment, including key institutions, policy processes, and current developments
- Strategic thinking: Ability to identify opportunities, set priorities, and drive strategy in a dynamic regional context
- Experience: You will likely have 5 or more years of professional experience in India with civil society, professional services, or public affairs organizations focused on engaging companies and financial institutions around sustainability issues, with established contacts within climate and business sustainability networks active in the country
- Communication skills: Can translate complex issues and data into compelling narratives for different audiences
- People management experience is highly desired
- Right to work in India
Benefits
The Package- Employment type: Full-time position based in India
- Location: Delhi base, with flexible and remote working options available
- Salary: Starting ₹15,00,000 base salary per annum (plus mandatory statutory bonus) depending on experience and qualifications
