Software Engineering Manager

Responsible for growing and mentoring engineers as it relates to technical skills and career development.Assists with cross-team strategic efforts, influencing decisions to achieve efficient delivery of business value. Understands cross-team technical roadmaps, advocating new product abilities based on technical strategy and constraints.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant technical experience
- Five or more years of leading a software engineering team Preferred Skills/Experience
- Complete understanding of the team's domain and drives the team's objectives and deliverables with an understanding of adjacent teams business domains
- Complete understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of business strategy and how the technical and engineering strategy aligns to this
- Advanced knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools, especially industry specific applications
- Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures
- Strong analytical, product management, tactical planning and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with all parties involved in the product team (engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, customers, etc.)
- Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Pega certified system architect (CSSA) or higher strongly preferred
- Strong experience leading delivery on the Pega platform (PRPC / Infinity), including case management, workflows, and decisioning frameworks
- Proven ability to manage Pega-based enterprise applications, ensuring adherence to guardrails, performance standards, and governance practices
- Ability to coach and recommend appropriate Pega development approaches when multiple options exist, and clearly articulate why the selected method supports long-term system stability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Familiarity with Pega DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment models (AWS/Azure/Kubernetes)
- Ability to mentor teams on Pega architecture, design patterns, and certification progression (CSA, CSSA, LSA)
