Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Structural Engineer role based in Chennai. The Structural Engineer will perform structural analysis and design for 3D-printed and conventional concrete structures, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing structural calculations, developing design details and drawings in coordination with CAD teams, and collaborating with civil, mechanical, and materials engineers to integrate structural requirements with Tvasta's 3D printing technologies.
The role involves validating design concepts through simulations and, where needed, physical testing, as well as supporting troubleshooting during prototyping and construction. The Structural Engineer will also contribute to documentation, design reports, and continuous improvement of internal design methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications- Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to innovative 3D-printed and conventional structures.
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Calculations, including load assessment, member design, and code-based checks for safety and serviceability.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for preparing and reviewing structural drawings and details.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (e.g., IS, Eurocode, or equivalent) and basic knowledge of construction practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional R&D and project teams.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), innovative materials, or digital construction technologies is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in written reports and verbal discussions.
- Perform detailed design engineering, analysis and calculation on 3D printed structures.
- Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments and organise own work to meet deadlines.
- Preparing clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures.
- Coordination with other teams and responsible for developing quality products.
- 2-5 years of experience in buildings, precast, connection design, FEM analysis
- Proficient in RCC and Steel structures.
- Software skills ETABS , SAFE, RAM,STAAD Pro, ABAQUS and Ms Office.
