You will be working as Senior Technical Specialist - PM Drives at global grade 12 and will be part of Process Automation business for Process Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Global Engineering Manager and will be responsible for developing, testing and supporting on-time release of drive control application standards for making and finishing machines in pulp and paper industry segment, to provide technical support on the solutions to ABB internal business units, to enhance and maintain the life cycle of solution standards.
Your responsibilities
• Contributing with own ideas to identify, proposing and implementing innovative technology development and solutions. Proposing follow-up activities based on new ideas
• Demonstrating solid technical proficiency in paper machine drives control process by performing a variety of technology / engineering assignments, which demonstrates independent ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutions
• Keeping informed of strategic plans and performing activities in line with current direction
• Working as a reliable research and development project member and has the capability to be work-package responsible, applying a structured way of working
• Gathering information about relevant ABB products and technologies in order to achieve efficiency in own research and development activities and develops an understanding of technical drivers and customer value
• Providing consulting services to business operations and customers
Your background
• Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation and control / electronics and instrumentation engineering
• Require 8 to 10 years of experience in drives solutions by similar suppliers or in Paper Industry
• Good to have QCS (quality control solutions), ABB Scanner, NP700, NP1200, NP800, CD actuators, basis weight, moisture, caliper, ash, Voith, Valmet, Honeywell
• Knowledge of IT/ network/ peripherals like UPS, printer, PC’s, server components of DCS
• Knowledge in application programming and HMI development/ modifications for PLC/ DCS systems
• Experience of commissioning / trouble shooting / servicing drive systems preferably in/ for paper making and its finishing machines
