Summary:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, identifying and solving issues within critical business systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of applications and providing technical support to end-users.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and manage the team to perform effectively.
• Responsible for team decisions.
• Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions.
• Provide solutions to problems for your immediate team and across multiple teams.
• Ensure timely resolution of application issues and incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and security.

Professional & Technical Skills:

• Must Have Skills:
• Proficiency in IBM z/OS.
• Strong understanding of mainframe systems and architecture.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving application issues on IBM z/OS.
• Knowledge of JCL, COBOL, and other mainframe programming languages.
• Familiarity with job scheduling and batch processing on IBM z/OS.
• Good to Have Skills:
• Experience with IBM CICS and IMS.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications.
• Knowledge of mainframe security and access control mechanisms.

Additional Information:

• The candidate should have a minimum of 7.5 years of experience in IBM z/OS.
• A 15 years full-time education is required.
