AI Engineering & Delivery Leader - Financial Services

A leading financial services organisation is building out its AI engineering function — not an AI strategy function, not a centre of excellence, not a consulting layer. An engineering function. One that designs, builds, and ships.

What the role is:

You will own the AI engineering charter within a financial services technology vertical. That means hands-on architecture, solution delivery, and team accountability. The expectation is clear: you build, you lead, you deliver. Not co-ordinate. Not escalate. Not evangelise.

• Design and own the end-to-end AI/GenAI solution architecture for financial services use cases — lending, customer experience, operations
• Lead delivery of AI engineering initiatives from architecture through production deployment
• Work directly with product and business stakeholders — own outcomes, not only inputs
• Build and govern the AI engineering team: hiring, capability development, technical standards
• Hands-on engagement with LLM frameworks, cloud AI platforms, and integration architecture — not just oversight
• Drive build decisions with a clear view of scalability, cost, and technical debt

What we're looking for:

• 15+ years of experience, with at least 4–5 years in AI/ML engineering (not AI consulting or AI strategy)
• Strong architecture credentials — hands-on, not advisory
• Proven delivery ownership: you've shipped AI solutions into production, not just designed them
• Financial services domain familiarity is a strong plus
• Comfortable being the accountable person — not a liaison
