Quality Engineer - New Product Development

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in electronics manufacturing, automotive quality standards, and problem-solving methodologies to deliver products on time, within cost, and meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead end-to-end development of new products from concept to mass production
2. Prepare product design concepts, specifications, and feasibility studies
3. Coordinate prototype development and validation activities
4. Work closely with design, R&D, quality, production, and supply chain teams
5. Act as a bridge between customer requirements and internal teams
6. Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for new components development
7. Plan and track NPD timelines, milestones, and deliverables
8. Ensure projects are completed within cost, quality, and time targets
9. Identify risks and implement mitigation plans
10. Understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications
11. Participate in customer meetings, audits, and reviews (e.g., PPAP, APQP)
12. Provide technical support during product trials and approvals
13. Prepare and maintain documents like DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, SOPs
14. Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
15. Handle PPAP documentation and submission
16. Support manufacturing team in process setup and line trials
17. Optimize processes for efficiency, cost, and quality
18. Ensure smooth product handover to mass production

• Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes (PCBA, SMT, testing, functional validation, mechanical drawings).
• Good knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA
• Understanding of electronic components such as MCU, GSM modem, GPS module, ESIM, power circuits, etc.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• understanding of warranty analysis and field return process

Qualifications:

• BE/B.Tech in Electronics / Electrical / Automobile Engineering)
• 5-8 years of experience.
