Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive

Job Description

Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automotive components using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE
• Work on plastic part design, injection molding, and casting components
• Apply GD&T principles and tolerance stack-up analysis (3DCS)
• Design components related to ECU, sensors, camera, radar, and electronic enclosures
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design validation and product development
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards and manufacturability requirements
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and engineering change management

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in automotive mechanical design
• Strong expertise in CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE (mandatory)
• Experience in plastic design, injection molding, or casting
• Good knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis (3DCS)
• Experience working on automotive components or systems
• Strong understanding of product design and development lifecycle
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
