South Coast Radiology is seeking a motivated Assistant Area Manager to support operations across John Flynn Private Hospital and Tweed Heads Hub. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a 2IC leadership position, working closely with an experienced Technical Area Manager while contributing to high-performing, patient-focused imaging services.
About The Role
As the Assistant Area Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operational and clinical performance of your sites. Acting as second-in-charge, you'll help ensure efficient workflows, strong team engagement, and consistently high standards of imaging and patient care.
You'll work collaboratively with Radiologists, technical teams, nursing staff and clerical teams to deliver seamless service, while also stepping into leadership responsibilities when required.
Key Responsibilities- Support daily radiography operations across John Flynn Private Hospital and Tweed Heads Hub, ensuring efficient workflow and patient flow
- Assist in optimising scheduling, resource allocation, and service delivery
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to technical staff
- Act as 2IC and step into leadership responsibilities when required
- Assist with rostering, recruitment, onboarding, and performance processes
- Support training, development, and upskilling of team members
- Ensure adherence to imaging protocols, radiation safety, and quality standards
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service enhancements
- Troubleshoot operational and clinical issues, escalating where required
- Support compliance, audits, and consistent documentation practices
- Build strong relationships with Radiologists, referrers, and multidisciplinary teams
About You
You are a confident senior Radiographer who enjoys supporting others, improving workflows, and stepping into leadership when needed.
You Will Bring- Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging (or equivalent)
- AHPRA registration
- QLD and/or NSW radiation licences
- 5+ years clinical radiography experience
- Demonstrated leadership capability or supervisory experience
- Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites
- Work with one of the leading imaging providers on the Gold Coast
