Role Description:
Job Summary.
The Group Physical Security Systems Administrator is a crucial role within the Group Corporate Security team. The team is designed to protect, prevent, detect, and respond to employee physical security risks and incidents.
You will be a part of the team responsible for our physical security systems, focused on intents such as software engineering, programming, commissioning, and administration in the pursuit of keeping all Booking Holdings employees safe and secure.
The core focus of the function is to act as a systems administrator internally and externally, where you will provide expert advice for colleagues, vendors, or suppliers regarding new and existing physical security projects and issues.
Your task is to follow the standards of our physical security systems globally to reach our ultimate goal of becoming the best place to work.
The Group Physical Security Systems Administrator acts as a first line of support during projects and security system issues within the Global Corporate Security Team, who will also work with internal and external stakeholders.
The Group Physical Security Systems Administrator will contribute to setting a standard for our global access control management system and will implement and reconfigure new or existing physical security installations (security systems, software applications, and hardware, to complete projects relevant to supporting the Group Corporate Security team).
- Deliver global support for physical security systems issues, projects, and changes. This role is committed to supporting existing core principles and future design to meet wider booking set business strategic objectives in line with ISO standards and NIST controls.
- Experience with enterprise network and IT environments to manage physical security system endpoints at offices globally.
- Group Physical Security Systems Administrator will support and roll-out the physical security systems, programming standards, upgrades, and admin for Booking Holdings Inc.'s 150+ offices globally.
- Hardware-to-Software Bridge: Troubleshooting the “physical” side (voltages, strikes, and relays) via the “software” side (logs, API calls, and event viewers).
- Work with internal stakeholders such as Corporate Network, Network Security, Real Estate, and Workspace Services to resolve issues and deliver security changes and upgrades.
- Work with external security integrators during the commissioning of a project or during troubleshooting of an issue.
- Support with the physical security systems programming standards.
- Health Monitoring: Ensure the health of physical security endpoints is up to the standard.
- Firmware Lifecycle: Deployments of security patches, firmware updates, and upgrades across a global fleet of physical security field components.
- Device Hardening: Ensure best-practices for security hardening of devices are followed and end to end encryption will be implemented on endpoints.

- Collaborate with the Physical Security Systems Specialist II, Network Security, and Corporate IT teams. To architect and deploy a hybrid regional/global server model.
- Your primary objective will be to contribute to migrating access control and video surveillance systems to the B.com AWS environment, optimizing on premise security on endpoints, and reducing local on-premise hardware to reduce licensing overhead and hardware footprint.
- Providing end user onboarding and training for access control and video management systems to office management.
- Be one of the subject matter experts on technical physical security systems and software.
- Drive the global troubleshooting and optimization of physical security hardware and software. You will serve as the first line of support for technical escalation points for cross-functional teams, diagnosing and resolving connectivity and firmware issues within our global security architecture.
- Support the local office management teams; be the first line of support for questions and malfunctions with the physical security systems using internal software, like Jira.
- Contribute to and extend the global knowledge base of technical security courses. You will translate complex system configurations (access control, VMS, IDS) into actionable training modules for local management teams, ensuring operational consistency across all sites.
- Drive technical excellence by auditing ticket data to pinpoint chronic performance issues across specific access control or surveillance platforms. You will refine the ticketing tool’s workflows to better capture diagnostic data, enabling faster Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for global security systems.
- Monitor and maintain the health of our tiered Global/Regional EACS server hierarchy. Assist with routine software updates, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability across distributed environments.
- Apply and enforce established system-wide programming standards for our multi-vendor access control platforms. Ensure all new and existing device configurations remain consistent across all global regions.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and assist with data mapping and maintenance to ensure smooth interoperability between separate EACS systems.
- Support the deployment and configuration of hardened physical security network components. Assist in troubleshooting communication pathways between regional edge controllers and centralized global servers.
- Attend training courses, software updates, and online release shows.
- Grow your knowledge so you can support local teams and 3rd party integrators, service requests, troubleshooting, programming, etc.

- Preferred, 1-3 years of experience with technical security projects (implementation) in a corporate environment.
- Technical knowledge and experience of Security Management Systems (e.g., Winguard), Access Control- (Nedap AEOS/ Lenel OnGuard), Video Management (Milestone VMS)- and Intrusion Detection Systems are a must.
- Good understanding of enterprise networking and IT environments, on-premise/hybrid and cloud technology, like AWS.
- Excellent communicator, problem-solving skills, able to build strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder group, able to build consensus and drive action.
- Hands-on experience with physical security, solution-focused.
- Ability to prioritize incoming escalations and requests appropriately using clear communications.
- Self-starter, able to work independently, enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

- Ability to travel occasionally, to projects and Amsterdam.
