With commercial deployments and a rapidly growing project pipeline, Ossus is scaling hydrogen production facilities across India and is seeking an experienced supply chain leader to drive strategic sourcing, procurement excellence, vendor ecosystem development, and project execution support.
Position Summary
The Senior Manager - Supply Chain & Strategic Procurement will be responsible for end-to-end procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract management, logistics coordination, and supply chain execution for Ossus wastewater-to-hydrogen projects.
The role requires strong techno-commercial expertise in managing procurement and supplier relationships across hydrogen production systems, electrolyzer ecosystem components, rectifiers, power supply infrastructure, industrial process equipment, fabricated systems, automation platforms, and large-scale project execution packages.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting green hydrogen projects, electrolyzer deployments, industrial gas systems, process plant EPC projects, or wastewater treatment infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing- Lead procurement activities for hydrogen production facilities and wastewater-to-hydrogen projects.
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with project schedules, engineering requirements, budgets, and business objectives.
- Manage RFQs, techno-commercial evaluations, bid analysis, supplier negotiations, and purchase order execution.
- Establish sourcing strategies for long-lead and critical equipme
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives across projects.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard domestic and international suppliers.
- Build and maintain a strong vendor ecosystem across hydrogen, power electronics, automation, fabrication, wastewater treatment, and process equipment sectors
- Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, manufacturing evaluations, and performance reviews.
- Develop alternate sourcing channels and localization strategies for critical equipment categories.
- Build strategic relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, system integrators, fabricators, and technology partners.
- Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, warranties, delivery schedules, service agreements, and annual rate contracts.
- Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle costs during supplier selection.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on technical specifications and supplier evaluations.
- Support budgeting, cost estimation, and procurement planning activities.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Projects, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Ensure procurement activities remain aligned with project execution schedules and commissioning time lines.
- Track long-lead equipment and proactively manage procurement risks.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide procurement status updates to management.
- Support installation, commissioning, and vendor coordination activities.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDI), and supplier audits.
- Review material certifications, inspection reports, FAT documentation, and supplier quality records.
- Ensure supplier compliance with project specifications and applicable industrial standards.
- Work with QA/QC teams to resolve supplier quality issues and non-conformances.
- Manage domestic and international logistics operations.
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, freight management, dispatch planning, and inventory control.
- Ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials across project sites.
- Monitor logistics costs and optimize supply chain performance.
- Identify procurement and supply chain risks across projects.
- Monitor supplier performance, commodity pricing trends, and material availability.
- Develop mitigation plans for critical supply chain dependencies and long-lead equipment.
- Establish contingency sourcing plans for strategic procurement categories.

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.

- 5 - 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, project procurement, or techno-commercial functions.
